Love Yourself First

It can be a hard lesson to learn, to understand, learning to love yourself first.

Yet, how loving yourself first will greatly make a difference in your relationships, as well as your entire life experience.

When you learn to love and value yourself as well your emotional needs, you are able to see where and how you need this from others.

If you can start practicing little changes in how you approach your daily life, by incorporating self-care and soul nurturing, you will make a enormous impact on how you allow others to treat you and how you make decisions in your life.

When you learn to love yourself and give yourself that time and space, you make a big change in how you feel, and how you live.

Give yourself that peace.

Give yourself that space.

You deserve love, especially from yourself.

Be that partner that you seek from an outward source.

Be that best friend to yourself that you desire from your friends.

You can be more for yourself while needing and expecting less from others.

You are worthy of love and you are capable of accepting it from yourself.

Let this help you learn how to love yourself more so you can find more peace.

You are worthwhile.

Your needs matter.

You can do more than you know.

You are worthy of love.

Carpet Piles

So many things left unsaid.

So many troubles lost without an end.

Blank stares after fights.

Lost words, from not enough strength to finish a line.

Builds up over time…

Trying to walk through that dining room with carpets full of piles…

Piles of words swept under the carpet.

Angry arguments left unfinished, just to build up over time, taking up space, draining energy and making you feel out of place.

Carpet piles…

Lost words that were left unsaid…

Feelings that get lost in your head…

Unfinished business, fights stopped short…

Never listening…

Never hearing…

It’s all so draining…

Tears so scattered like the sprayed spit from the nasty words that were yelled.

Stopping before anyone got hurt, but holding on still, enough to keep the pain inside still.

Swept under the carpet, to pull out again in time…

Never really feeling healed.

Always going on like nothing bad was ever said.

Why…

How can things ever heal in time, when they aren’t allowed to be spoken about…

Stop the avoidance.

Make a change, to make a difference.

Emotions are felt and need to be known.

Respect can be given, love can be shown.

Stop the carpet piles.

Acknowledge the hurt.

Understand the pain.

Stop the avoidance and make communication a positive thing.

The Path Unknown

Rough Waters

Everything will be easy.

It will all go smoothly.

There will be no storms or rough waters.

Life will bring us so much goodness.

It will be everything we want it to be.

There will be no struggle.

There will be no pain.

Life is simple.

It is not complicated.

It is not complex.

Oh, life…

You had us fooled.

We had left home, at the ripe age of teenagers and had all the hopes and dreams of it all being so simple…

So easy…

Preoccupied with looks and friends and becoming wealthy, we thought that would be all we would need.

We though status was the answer.

We thought clothing and things would be our level up.

Life showed us that it is much more than that.

Life showed us the rough waters of being so surface focused, would surely make us drown.

What is on the outside does not make up for what is unfound on the inside.

The deepest sea has the coolest waters, and the more turbulent storms to face.

As with us, we have much depth, though not all of it was quite known or understood.

We thought we knew ourselves, within.

Our depths go much deeper than we knew before.

Now we see, a life with purpose for more than just material things…

A life of passion…

A life without greed or so many possessions…

This is the life we now seek.

We try to see the depths of others, while even just passing by.

A depth is beyond just a wave and a smile, for it goes deep, like the deepest of seas.

Love and care, and genuine concern.

Peace, kindness, a desire for more than just what one can take to the bank, this is what will keep us swimming, without tidal waves of the surface trying to pull us in.

When we leave this world, we hope to leave a mark.

Not one that can be seen or touched, but one that can be felt, like a feeling that calms the deepest sea.

A feeling that gives you a sense of understanding that all will be okay, even when no-one else is around.

Whether or not we have ever met, we hope it soars like a seagull though the winds, to each soul that is left on earth.

When all possessions are gone and the world is silent, we hope a feeling of peace is felt.

Maybe not from us, but maybe from the storms that pass and all that can be remembered is that feeling of goodness, that feeling of purpose.

Rough waters can always be beautiful to watch, as they roar and splash, they bring an electricity of their own.

Knowing each storm will pass, knowing we need nothing except for who we are, that is the peace that we will carry with us, if nothing else, that will be enough.

Hold this with you, carry it like a sack on a stick, for it is all you need to hold onto.

Life will bring storms.

Life will bring rough waters.

Even so, you will have purpose.

You will have peace.

Everything is there for you, it is all within.

The Flow

As it flows,

Life begins to find a rhythm.

Just as time passes,

Life breezes by.

There are short spurts in which we exist,

Never really seeing it all put together until a while later.

Time is precious.

Life is, too.

As time flows,

Life begins to make sense.
