Pay Attention
You hid from me, in your darkness, avoiding the light like it was a plague to end all life.
There was a ghostly presence about you, one that you didn’t understand.
You were a ghost of the night, but you had a kindness in your eyes.
Yet, you only saw your darkness so you feared your fate would be the same.
You came to me for answers.
You came to me for help.
You came to me, calling out, with cries, for you had nowhere else to go.
No-one else could see you, like I could.
Though, I feared you and your darkness, I saw there was a light, within.
There was a light in which you existed, if only for a moment, here and there, it was what helped keep you here.
A darkness like yours could swallow one up.
It could take one down to the deepest oceans, leaving no trace of your existence having ever been.
You have a goodness within you, but to let it grow will take some time.
You will have much work to do, for this darkness is hard to remove.
The fog around you is heavy, as we walk along the beach.
The waves break and reach my feet.
They cannot reach yours, even though you are with me, you are a bit ghostly, an existence that is hovering between worlds.
How did you get this way?
Life must have really been tough on you, to be here, yet not, and without much hope to be found within.
There is hope…
You might not see it, but it is there, and it is waiting for you to see it, too.
I will walk with you.
We can talk.
I will show you your light.
And hopefully, in time, you can see there is more to this life than the darkness, as we make our way down this beach of darkened sand.
-M.
You challenged me with your mist.
Along your path, you hissed.
A roar, a flow, a gravitating blow, there was no release to your taunting.
Right by you, I walked.
I could smell you, without an effort or a thought.
As you reached my toes, you bellowed out more of your rough talk.
The thought of following you out, amongst your depths, is still a thought, a very daunting thought that is quite haunting.
-M.
There is this place I want to show you…
It will take a few months, or so, to get there.
We must take a boat, for we can only reach it by way of the sea, as there is no other way to find this special place.
You will see, it will be grand, we will have an adventure, just wait and see.
We will look over to the land, as we take the to the water, hand in hand, to find our special place, on the sea, aboard Harmony.
You and me, we can do it all.
You and me, we will see it all.
You and me, we will be so happy at sea.
There won’t be a sky that we won’t sleep under, or a star we don’t look to, for our map as we sail away, on the wide open sea.
The sea may rage, we may face storms, but we will find peace and Serenity onboard Harmony.
Who knows how long we will be, it may take longer than a few months, we may be sailing for years to come.
Storms may take us off course, or we may have to stop on some islands for more resources, but we will be okay, because we will have each other and Harmony will keep us safe.
We may miss our friends and family who remain back on land, but there is so much for us to explore, we might just need to take our time, for the land will always be there, yet the time to explore is now.
What is time without an adventure to spend it on.
What is life without some freedom to explore.
This life is the only life we have, and it’s time that we go and see the world, from the eyes of a captain, on a boat called Harmony.
Let’s take this voyage, and navigate the sea.
We will have a compass and plenty of things we may need.
There will be no worries, except for what Mother Nature might bring.
It’s going to be the best, an adventure of a lifetime.
You and me, I just know, we can live in harmony, on the open sea.
-M.
Let’s sit together on a bench, in the marina, by the sea.
We can wait for the sunset, as the seagulls fly by, searching for their next snack left by some passersby.
It might get chilly, but we can sip on some red wine and feel the warmth it brings as we sit there, in the Seabreeze.
I want to sit with you, cuddled up, as the day floats by.
We will hear the ship horns and the waves, as the day turns to dusk.
We can smell the salty air, as the Seabreeze blows by.
There will be a bit of chatter from the seamen and the boats, but we will just listen to it all in silence, as we enjoy our closeness and the warmth of the wine as we find peace in the breeze and a joy in the way the day comes to an end, on a bench by the sea.
There are only so many days that we can find time to sit and enjoy such a peaceful time as this.
I hope we can come back for another time, or two, but if we don’t at least we had this one time, to enjoy the simple silence and the chatter, the Seabreeze, seaguls and the life on the marina, on a bench by the sea.
