Learning About Self-Value

Those who truly value you won’t diminish your energy.

They won’t take from you without giving back.

They won’t argue with you when you set your prices for things you are selling, or art you are working on building a business around.

They won’t try to give you less than what you say you are setting as your worth.

Those who are truly here to support you and want to see you succeed will meet you where you are at, while helping you step up to your next level.

They will do this by helping you see how worthy you are of the successes you desire.

They will want to help you achieve your goals.

Even if that means by stepping away from you when they know your time together is no longer aligned.

Those who are here for your highest good will never put you down.

They will never make you question whether or not they are truly good people for your life.

So often we can be in situations where we find ourselves overwhelmed by frustration, because we have surrounded ourselves with a few people who we constantly question, “Are they really a good friend? Would a good friend make me that uncomfortable? If they are my friend, why do I feel so uneasy around them and why do they make me feel unsafe?”

Life is constantly showing us so much about who we are and putting us in situations of questioning ourselves and those around us.

This all for our personal growth.

Learn what you see to be valuable to you, around your peace.

Who is truly your friend?

Who is wearing a mask?

Who is only next to you because they enjoy what they gain from being in your energy field?

You can hold space for your own happiness and feelings of peace.

You don’t need to be around those who put you down or take from you without giving back.

You are deserving of peace.

Remember that you are loved.

You are important.

Sit with Yourself

Sit with yourself.

Let the fears and worries swim around you.

Then let the universe show you that there is nothing to worry about.

There is nothing to fear.

Sit with yourself.

Remember who you are.

Remember why you are here

Sit with yourself.

Relish in the silence.

Appreciate the nature that surrounds you.

Sit with yourself.

Lean in.

Listen to the whispers of your heart.

What are they saying…

Sit with yourself.

Be alone.

Walk quietly.

Let the thoughts trickle away.

Be still.

Be silent.

Breathe.

You are safe.

Love yourself.

You are enough

The Sound of the Storm

The Sound of The Storm

On the harder days, I remember this day.

It reminds me of what I have gotten through.

Feeling the storms of my emotions, while getting my picture taken, not knowing what would come after.

Already working on dealing with so much trauma, and trying to survive, trying to keep my kids safe, though, it felt like there was danger coming.

Feelings erupting inside of me.

Feeling in a place of uncertainty, just as we tend to be, when in the middle of a storm.

After this shoot, I went for my daily walk and found my daughter was missing.

She was not where she was supposed to be, and when she knew I knew, she made it so I couldn’t call or text her.

It was a long weekend, trying to find her and get her home.

These are not stories I typically share on here, due to not wanting to over share, but sometimes I just need to release, for the healing, and to maybe help someone else.

Twenty six hours of not knowing where my daughter was, or if she would come home.

Twenty six hours of being in panic for her life and her wellbeing.

She finally returned home, and she was safe.

One more scar on my heart.

One more memory to remember how much I love her.

One more reason to show her more sensitivity and compassion.

This shoot really ended up representing more than Marina Shipova or I could have even imagined.

Life is always full of uncertainty.

We just have to muster the courage to keep going.

One step at a time.

One day at a time.

One moment at a time.

Find your peace.

Find your balance.

Find your strength.

You are capable of more than you know.

H2G2 Essay

The Hitch Hiker’s guide to the Galaxy relates to our class in the way of how we have been exploring the world. It also relates in the way that we are not supposed to panic. There were many times when the two main characters in H2G2 were thrown into situations of the unknown with no idea of how they would make it through, but they did not panic. They kept focused and calm, and made it through with thoughtful and concise planning. With all the extreme circumstances, near death experiences, they kept their cool and made sure to find their precise goals and visualized and were creative and positive in each difference and wild experience. In this class we have had many loops and turns, a whole lot of unknowns, but with a specific goal in mind. That goal was to succeed and learn a lot, while developing new skills. There have been some surprising new assignments that have appeared, at last minute, unless those were overlooked before, but they brought new challenges, and the whole class experience has been like an intragalactic experience on Earth. I have found that the book has relates to this class in several ways and has shown me ways to stay focused on the outcome I would like to have, rather than the challenges that happen upon the journey, instead. And always remember, DON’T PANIC!

Take me back in Time

When I look at you, it takes me back, to when life was easier.

Life used to be more free.

Things were different.

Everything felt so much better.

Now it all feels like a distant memory.

How does that happen?

One moment we are here, the next we are somewhere else, entirely.

I miss the way things were.

I miss the freedom, the laughter, the peace.

Now we must learn to accept the new ways of life.

We must find new ways to laugh and find peace within the not so normal.

For now I will just keep that memory alive, of how things used to be, while learning how to move in this new way of existence.

I will find my peace in that, to help me carry on, with these days of lost minds and forgotten peace, in the silence of more loneliness and time apart.

Thank you for helping me find some inkling of hope, for being here, for listening and for holding all of the past within you.

You have brought me hope, even if all you did was sit there and listen.

In the silence of sitting still, we can find more peace.
